Legal Victory

Denise E. Jacobs had her faith, and abilities, put to the ultimate test: in the High Court of Justice.

Courthouse
Author Denise E. Jacobs fought a “David Vs Goliath” legal battle against a multinational financial firm within the Royal Courts of Justice.
As her ability to pass along accurate messages improved over time, Denise was given information one small piece at a time – much of it leading towards helping herself and others in a variety of scenarios. At the same time, she was also put through enormous challenges, including two bouts of breast cancer, huge financial pressures, and a nine-year legal case, all of which were to test her belief and endurance. Perhaps most notable of which was the messages she received as guidance towards their long pursuit for justice against one of the world’s largest financial services companies, Legal & General Assurance Ltd. Along the way, Denise was able to give messages of hope, encouragement, support, and essential information to many people.
Central to her story is this gruelling historic legal battle, held in London’s Gothic Royal Courts of Justice, which Denise and her husband Michael brought against in the Legal & General. The company’s agent arranged for the couple to pay £65,000 as a prepayment against a loan of £2 million for the expansion of their public limited company, which was the originator of the in-flight video entertainment we watch today in aeroplanes and taxis. But the money never came; it was an advanced-fee fraud which resulted in the loss of their company and world-wide patents, and which left them destitute and homeless.
It appeared to be an unwinnable David and Goliath case – two people with no financial resources versus a vast, multinational financial services institution. Legal & General cited the couple as ‘vexatious litigants’ whose claims would inevitably fail and, as a result, their legal aid was withdrawn. Deprived of lawyers, Denise refused to accept defeat. Despite having no legal training, she studied financial services law and litigation in order to continue the fight as litigants-in-person.
The case hung on crucial missing evidence and all seemed to be lost until, in an extraordinary twist, Denise received messages from her late brother. Most notably, key evidence was contained in a building that even the custodian didn’t know existed. The full story, including the incredible outcome and how it reaffirmed her gifts, can all be found in Red Amaryllis.
